About The Position

The Sme L1 role supports operations and field service for Wipro Customer uncrewed aerial systems. Duties include preparing and checking nests and aircraft, carrying out routine maintenance practices, monitoring aircraft and operating conditions, communicating with flight operations personnel, responding to assigned field tasks and minor emergencies, and moving or recovering aircraft and equipment between operating locations. The role also includes securing and maintaining nest equipment and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Set up nests before operations begin.
• Perform daily aircraft and flight-line checks, including pre-flight and post-flight inspections, and other start-of-day activities.
• Perform routine aircraft standard practices as defined in the customer’s uncrewed aerial system maintenance manual.
• Check nest equipment and conditions before, during, and after operations.
• Maintain cleanliness within the nest boundary.
• Replace customer-provided nest equipment as required.
• Participate in personnel briefings.
• Maintain communications with the customer’s flight operations center using customer-provided equipment.
• Respond to and complete field service tasks assigned by the customer.
• Respond to minor emergencies involving the customer’s aircraft and equipment, and report occurrences to the designated flight operations manager.
• When scheduled, visually monitor airspace for non-customer aircraft and report detections.
• Monitor customer-provided air-traffic displays for non-customer aircraft and report them to the pilot-in-command.
• Monitor for hazardous weather in the operating area and report it to the flight operations manager.
• Detect and report visible obstacles or other flight hazards to the flight operations manager.
• Verify and report the location and height of detected obstacles when requested.
• Operate a contractor-provided light vehicle (van) to travel between operating locations, move aircraft between sites, and recover aircraft.
• Recover customer aircraft that have landed outside the nest area.
• Secure nest equipment and facilities at the end of aircraft service.
