About The Position

The 711th Human Performance Wing (711 HPW), located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is a unique organization consolidating human performance research, education, and consultation. As part of the Air Force Research Laboratory, the 711 HPW comprises the Airman Systems Directorate, the United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM), and the Human Systems Integration Directorate. The Wing provides significant capabilities to the Air Force through its advanced infrastructure and a diverse workforce of military, civilian, and contractor personnel across 75 occupational specialties. This role involves providing instructional support for multiple courses, potentially serving as a Course Director, and developing professional development training. The contractor will collaborate with course directors, other instructors, and administrative staff to ensure compliance with course material delivery requirements, both in-person and online. Responsibilities include instructing, assisting other instructors, mentoring students, maintaining subject matter knowledge, and participating in various educational and project-related tasks. The position requires adherence to institutional, accrediting, and regulatory policies, as well as participation in required training and meetings. The contractor will also contribute to curriculum development, faculty support, and other mission-related duties within the Office of the Dean.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in education or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience and/or experience providing educational support for a formal education program or related area.
  • Experience as a qualified DoD instructor or possess the ability to attain qualification (Basic Instructor Course and formal internship).
  • Experience in Office 365 tools (e.g., MS Windows, MS Access, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Publisher, MS Teams, MS Planner, MS Power BI, and Microsoft Forms).
  • Non-Disclosure Agreement in place with their company, and the company must provide a copy to the Program Manager.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Minimum of a Tier 1 background check (T1)/SF85 for any position that requires access to the internet, use of automated information systems to cover standalone computers or unescorted entry into restricted or controlled areas prior to reporting for duty.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in AF Medical Service leadership at the flight level or above and/or along with clinical experience.
  • Qualified Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) instructor or be a previous CCAF instructor experience with ability to qualify as a returning instructor.
  • Master Instructor certification and/or 250+ teaching hours.
  • Experience, knowledge, and understanding of applicable Air Force, military, and professional standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instructional support for multiple courses, working with course directors, other instructors, and Office of the Dean personnel.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills related to course material delivery requirements and ensure compliance.
  • Potentially be assigned as a Course Director and perform duties as outlined in local guidance and policy.
  • Maintain course material delivery requirements in an online environment.
  • Develop, design, and deliver professional development training as required by government representatives.
  • Instruct and participate in instructional development processes for the Office of the Dean, including precepting or assisting other instructors.
  • Provide education and training professional development for USAFSAM instructors.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other instructors or sections on day-to-day tasks such as preparing rooms, testing equipment, and serving as a student mentor/coach.
  • Maintain subject matter knowledge of course material.
  • Attain and maintain instructor qualifications as required by CCAF, USAFSAM policy, or other accrediting bodies.
  • Comply with all institutional, accrediting, and regulatory agency policies and procedures.
  • Attend and participate in training and meetings as directed.
  • Participate in and support other projects within skill sets, such as writing continuity documents, attending/presenting at symposiums, defining capabilities, collaborating with colleges or partners, and supporting special projects.
  • Work collaboratively on a team to ensure the integrity of the education program.
  • Advise course directors, assist in responding to and resolving student issues, and elevate program administrative problems.
  • Provide End of Course (EOC) survey feedback and actions for course improvement.
  • Assist with attendance, class rosters, completion, and coordination of course graduation activities.
  • Assist in the development of student resource materials.
  • Conduct faculty evaluations and assist with student and instructor testing.
  • Provide academic assistance to struggling students in support of the Academic Excellence Program.
  • Assist the curriculum development manager with course development and updates.
  • Support the Faculty Development program by reviewing, updating, and maintaining USAFSAM instructor qualifications.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills, ability to achieve set goals, initiative, ability to follow-up complex projects, and ability to interact professionally with all levels of personnel.
  • Assist with other education and training mission-related duties as assigned within the Office of the Dean.
