About The Position

Welocalize is seeking a Slovak Localization QA Tester / Proofreader for a long-term role. The position focuses on reviewing and refining localized content to ensure it is natural, accurate, polished, and free of errors. This includes checking grammar, spelling, punctuation, consistency, formatting, and cultural or contextual accuracy. The role also involves testing digital products, executing test cases, identifying localization and functional issues, reporting bugs through internal or client-specific tracking systems, and verifying fixes. From time to time, the tester may translate content from English into Slovak. The role is hybrid, primarily remote, with approximately 10% on-site presence. Welocalize provides AI-enabled multilingual content solutions, combining AI, automation, and human expertise to support enterprise localization. Requirements

Native-level Slovak language skills and cultural awareness of Slovak and Slovakia.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Strong organization and attention to detail, with a commitment to quality.
Ability to understand and prioritize tasks and issues quickly and efficiently.
Ability to follow testing instructions and test cases accurately.
Ability to troubleshoot basic problems and communicate or escalate testing issues effectively.

Background in marketing, journalism, copy editing, proofreading, writing, translation, or localization.

Responsibilities

Write and report relevant bugs and errors through the internal database system, following best practices.
Understand and prioritize tasks and issues efficiently.
QA products by accurately following testing instructions and test cases.
Discover and report defects using client-specific bug-tracking tools.
Evaluate translations in the context of software, mobile apps, and documentation.
Serve as a subject matter expert for Slovak linguistic issues, researching and resolving language questions.
Follow project-specific quality standards, trademarks, style guides, client-preferred checklists, and glossaries.
Troubleshoot basic problems, communicate effectively, and escalate testing issues when needed.
Complete assigned tasks with quality and timeliness.
Review localized content for linguistic accuracy, fluency, consistency, formatting, and cultural or contextual fit.
Explore user interfaces to identify localization or functional issues and verify that implemented fixes are correct.
Translate content from English into Slovak from time to time.
