Slovak Localization QA Tester / Proofreader
About The Position
Welocalize is seeking a Slovak Localization QA Tester / Proofreader for a long-term role. The position focuses on reviewing and refining localized content to ensure it is natural, accurate, polished, and free from errors. Work includes checking grammar, spelling, punctuation, consistency, formatting, and cultural or contextual accuracy. The role also involves testing products by executing test cases, identifying localization bugs, reporting issues through internal or client-specific bug-tracking systems, and verifying that fixes have been implemented correctly. At times, the tester may translate content from English into Slovak and explore user interfaces to identify localization or functional issues. The role is suited to someone with native-level Slovak fluency, strong attention to detail, and an interest in quality assurance for digital products. The work arrangement is hybrid, primarily remote, with approximately 10% on-site presence. Compensation is listed as $27.
Requirements
- Native-level Slovak language skills and cultural awareness of Slovak and Slovakia.
- Good oral and written communication skills.

- Ability to follow testing instructions and test cases accurately.
- Ability to research and resolve Slovak linguistic questions.

Responsibilities
- Write and report relevant bugs and errors through the internal database system, following best practices.
- Understand and prioritize tasks and issues quickly and efficiently.
- QA various products by accurately following testing instructions and test cases.
- Discover and report defects using client-specific bug-tracking tools.
- Evaluate translations in the context of software, mobile apps, and documentation.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for Slovak linguistic issues, researching and resolving linguistic questions.
- Follow project-specific quality standards, trademarks, style guides, checklists, and glossaries.
- Troubleshoot basic problems, communicate testing issues effectively, and escalate them when needed.
- Complete assigned tasks to the required quality standards and on time.
- Review localized content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, consistency, formatting, and cultural or contextual accuracy.
- Verify that localization fixes have been correctly implemented.
- Translate content from English into Slovak when needed.
- Explore user interfaces to identify localization or functional issues.
