Slot Technician - Slot Operations
About The Position
The Slot Technician diagnoses and repairs slot machines, working with infrequent assistance and using extensive knowledge of their mechanical and electronic systems. The position also provides training or assistance to less experienced technicians. Responsibilities include repairing and maintaining component-level electronic circuitry, installing and removing gaming devices, performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting ticket-in/ticket-out and coin machines, clearing jams, assisting with game conversions and firmware upgrades, investigating ticket issues and device malfunctions, maintaining supplies, calibrating currency validators, and performing machine moves and floor upgrades. The role requires professional and predictable work, cleaning and sanitizing work and public spaces, and compliance with Indiana Gaming Regulations. The position spends time on the casino floor, where crowd and noise levels vary with guest volume. Team members must be able to work weekends and holidays, flexible shifts, and unusual hours.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Good communication skills and basic computer skills.
- Electronic background or a minimum of two years of experience in slot operations.
- At least two years of experience in the gaming industry or an equivalent customer-service environment.
- Obtain and maintain all licenses and certifications required by federal, state, and Indiana Gaming Commission requirements.
- Successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts and/or unusual hours.
- Knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations; team leadership and motivational skills; circuit-board-level electronics; technical experience and training with slots; and electronic and computer programming.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing; interpret and explain policies and procedures; present a professional appearance and an enthusiastic demeanor; and routinely go above and beyond in accomplishing responsibilities.

Responsibilities
- Analyze and respond to customer service-related issues.
- Repair and maintain component-level electronic circuitry in gaming devices.
- Install and remove gaming devices.
- Perform day-to-day preventative maintenance on slot machines.
- Troubleshoot ticket-in/ticket-out and coin machines; perform hopper tests and clear coin and bill-validator jams.
- Assist with game conversions and firmware upgrades.
- Investigate and verify ticket issues and investigate gaming-device malfunctions.
- Maintain inventory of supplies needed for the job.
- Maintain and calibrate currency validators; execute machine moves, game conversions, installations, and floor upgrades of ticket-in/ticket-out products.
- Perform other duties as deemed necessary by management or assigned.
- Work regularly, predictably, and professionally, and adhere to Indiana Gaming Regulations.
- Clean and sanitize work and public spaces.
- Attend seminars when needed.
- Deliver a positive and memorable guest experience and communicate effectively with guests and team members.
- Observe and direct actions of subordinates or trainees; inspect and maintain assigned areas; review and comprehend necessary documentation; and use machine test equipment.
