About The Position

ProAmpac is hiring a Slitter Operator at its Hanover Park, Illinois facility. The operator runs a machine that slits continuous lengths of material to customer specifications, monitors cutting and winding, and performs daily machine maintenance. The role is on second shift, from 4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. The stated pay range is $23 to $25 per hour.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Two to three years of experience working in the printing industry.
Ability to read a standard/metric measuring tape.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations involving standard/metric measurements.
Availability to work second shift, from 4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.

Responsibilities

Space rotary blades on the machine shaft according to the width specified in the work order and secure them in position.
Mount printed roll stock on machine supports and thread material over the tension bar, between feed rollers, and under rotary blades.
Start the machine and observe material flow to detect irregular cutting and winding.
Use machine levers to stop, start, and regulate machine speed and align material with rotary blades.
Disengage the winding shaft and remove narrow rolls of material.
Perform daily maintenance on the machine.
