About The Position

This application is for skilled operator positions at the Tyson Foods Wilkesboro Fresh Plant. The role involves operating a machine, pallet jack, or computer equipment as assigned. The specific shift and position are determined during the recruiter phone screening. Positions described include Jack Driver, Cage Dumper, and Box Machine Operator. Jack Drivers safely operate electric or manual pallet jacks to move raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished products through production areas. They help keep production lines supplied, move completed pallets to staging or storage, inspect equipment before operation, report maintenance issues, maintain an organized work area, and support inventory movement and other production tasks. Cage Dumpers safely load, position, and dump product cages into designated processing equipment while supporting production flow, product quality, and safety standards. Box Machine Operators operate, monitor, and maintain equipment that assembles corrugated boxes for production and packaging. They ensure boxes are produced correctly, available when needed, and meet quality and safety standards. Candidates must be able to understand labels, read recipes, follow instructions, and communicate effectively. The role may require work in cold, wet, or variable conditions typical of food production, as well as extended hours or weekends as needed. Candidates must meet the listed physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation and follow Tyson safety, food safety, quality, and other company policies. Other duties may be assigned by administration. Applicants must document at least six months of work history within the last 12 months in their application and/or resume. Rehires must wait 91 days from their last employment date before applying to the Fresh Plant. Applicants who have worked for Tyson Foods or Tyson affiliates three or more times are not eligible for rehire. Some roles may require a background check after an offer is extended. Hourly applicants must complete an additional task after submitting their application. Pay is based on the position hired for and is determined during the phone screen or interview.

Requirements

Must be able to understand labels, read recipes, follow instructions, and communicate effectively.
Ability to operate pallet jacks safely, for Jack Driver assignments.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Ability to lift, push, pull, and move materials as required.
Basic understanding of workplace safety procedures.
Ability to work in cold, wet, or varying environmental conditions typical of food production facilities.
Good attendance and teamwork skills.
Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

Operate electric or manual pallet jacks safely and efficiently, where assigned.
Transport raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished products to and from production areas.
Keep production lines stocked and move completed pallets to designated staging or storage areas.
Conduct pre-operational equipment inspections and report maintenance issues.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Assist with inventory movement and other production-related tasks as assigned.
Safely load, position, and dump product cages into designated processing equipment, where assigned.
Operate, monitor, and maintain box-making equipment and ensure corrugated boxes are produced correctly and available when needed, where assigned.
Follow safety, food safety, quality assurance, and company policies and procedures.
Work effectively with production team members to support continuous workflow.
Perform other duties as tasked by administration.
