About The Position

The Ski Maintenance Tech position at Nemacolin resort is responsible for maintaining and repairing ski lifts controls, safety systems, and other electrical equipment. This role involves performing daily pre-operation inspections of ski lift electrical and mechanical components after initial training. The technician will also perform diagnostic and repair procedures on electrical and charging systems, hydraulic drives, gear pumps, and valve systems. Additionally, they will conduct routine maintenance and repair on gas and diesel engines, including diesel fuel systems, and diagnose problems, perform maintenance, and repair power train systems such as transmissions, gearsets, driveline components, U-joints, and bearings. Responsibilities also include grooming ski slopes and features, monitoring snowmaking equipment, and assisting with the setup and operation of snowmaking systems. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of experience in mechanical maintenance and operation.
  • General knowledge of principles, practices, methods, materials, and mechanical maintenance.
  • Superior troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Self-starter with ability to work with little supervision.
  • Ability to work closely with the Activities Team.
  • Customer-service oriented.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to speak English.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair ski lift controls, safety systems and other electrical equipment.
  • Perform daily pre-operation inspections of ski lift electrical and mechanical components after initial training.
  • Perform diagnostic and repair procedures on electrical and charging systems, hydraulic drives, gear pumps and valve systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repair on gas and diesel engines, including diesel fuel systems.
  • Diagnose problems, performs maintenance, and repairs to power train systems including automatic, power shift and manual transmissions, planetary gearsets, driveline components, U-joints, and bearings, etc.
  • Groom ski slopes and features either during the day or evening.
  • Supervise the monitoring of pump stations, valve stations and Flowtronixs during start-up, shutdown and operation of the snow making system.
  • Assist Activities in setting-up and operating snowmaking equipment, hydrants and prepare fixed gears for making snow all over the mountain.
  • Rearrange snowmaking lines and blowing equipment.
  • Other job duties as assigned.
