Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of experience in mechanical maintenance and operation.
  • General knowledge of principles, practices, methods, materials, and mechanical maintenance.
  • Superior troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Self-starter with ability to work with little supervision.
  • Ability to work closely with the Activities Team.
  • Customer-service oriented.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to speak English.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • These skills and abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as through recreational experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair ski lifts controls, safety systems and other electrical equipment.
  • Daily pre-operation inspections of ski lift electrical and mechanical components shall be performed after initial training.
  • Performs diagnostic and repair procedures on electrical and charging systems, hydraulic drives, gear pumps and valve systems.
  • Performs routine maintenance and repair on gas and diesel engines, including diesel fuel systems.
  • Diagnose problems, performs maintenance, and repairs to power train systems including automatic, power shift and manual transmissions, planetary gearsets, driveline components, U-joints, and bearings, etc.
  • Responsible for grooming ski slopes and features either during the day or evening.
  • Supervises the monitoring of pump stations, valve stations and Flowtronixs during start-up, shutdown and operation of the snow making system.
  • Assist Activities in setting-up and operating snowmaking equipment, hydrants and prepare fixed gears for making snow all over the mountain.
  • Rearranging snowmaking lines and blowing equipment.
  • Other job duties as assigned.
