About The Position

McCormick is seeking a Site Training Manager for its Hunt Valley Plant. This role is a critical leader in integrating High Performance Work Systems (HPWS) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) through the 'Journey to Excellence' initiative. The Training Manager will be the system owner for the Site Training & Development program and the Leader of the Training & Development (T&D) Pillar.

Requirements

• Bachelors or equivalent in Business, HR, Engineering, Supply Chain, Management, OD or related or equivalent relevant experience.
• A minimum of 4 years of relevant training experience, with experience developing curriculum and training materials and facilitating training courses.
• Experience working in a High Performance Work Systems (HPWS) and/or Self Directed Work Team environment.
• Experience in adult learning theory.
• Manufacturing environment experience and understanding of supply chain.
• A strong understanding of TPM or lean manufacturing.
• Strong team, project/program management & leadership skills, presence and credibility, strong judgment, business instincts and high level of professionalism.
• Abreast of key industry trends by participating in professional industry organizations and continue to research and understand current best approach.
• Developed, polished communication and facilitation skills (written and oral).
• Demonstrated ability building and sustaining relationships at all levels required, promoting a high-performance organization.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to resolve issues with strong influencing, diplomacy, and partnering skills.
• Able to work both strategically and hands-on to deliver results.
• Influence without direct authority, diplomacy and tact, can build meaningful relationships.
• Proven presentation and facilitation skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the plant leadership team to determine training needs that will drive manufacturing excellence for the facility.
• Design, develop, and implement the training strategy and program structure integrated with the Journey to Excellence.
• Partner with key leaders to design and develop (or update) the Technician Work System.
• Support the Technician Work System by establishing a site-level qualification process and providing ongoing governance.
• Develop and implement training standards and measures that support the vision of self-sufficient teams.
• Ensure the implementation and effectiveness of an onboarding and early development program for new employees.
• Determine instructional methods and select or develop teaching aids.
• Provide primary support for new technologies, coordinating and preparing training schedules.
• Evaluate training effectiveness and assess program quality and success.
• Control training expenses and manage expenditures.
• Manage site or department training leaders.
• Oversee the Training and Development Systems.
• Lead and develop direct reports.
• Actively partner with other Site Training Managers on the Regional T&D Pillar team to support HPO Work Systems implementation.
• Provide framework for overarching training methodologies through standardization with other functions (HR, Safety, and Quality) to create regional training standards.
• Determine learning management system solution that will meet the needs of the manufacturing sites and JTE.
• Support the development of robust curriculum for both operational and soft skills.
