About The Position

Signal of South Central Florida is hiring a professional, reliable Security Officer to patrol a shopping plaza and provide a visible, approachable security presence. The schedule is four hours per day in the afternoon, approximately noon to 4:00 p.m.; start and finish times can be flexible within reason. The Patrol Guard conducts foot and vehicle patrols of storefronts, walkways, parking areas, courtyards, offices, pools, common areas, and other high-value locations. The role helps ensure access points are secured and protects property and residents through attentive, safety-focused service. Guards follow site-specific instructions and Post Orders, complete required patrols and reporting, and perform additional duties specified by the site. The position involves interacting with store managers, employees, clients, team members, and the public; identifying and reporting suspicious activity, hazards, property damage, and other concerns; and addressing loitering or disruptive behavior calmly and professionally. Guards use company technology and web- or app-based software to document patrols, visits, and incidents, and promptly escalate urgent concerns or contact emergency services when needed. The guard is responsible for assigned company equipment and, when assigned a patrol vehicle, its inspection, fueling, washing, and cleanliness. The role also requires timely communication with the Advanced Patrol Guard and/or Branch Patrol Supervisor, adherence to appearance and uniform standards, and completion of daily tasks and performance benchmarks. The schedule is described as four hours per day; the job description does not explicitly identify an employment classification.
