Site Reliability Engineer

The job overview for this role is that the Site Reliability Engineer will be responsible for the creation, installation, and support of computing systems and cloud infrastructure used by ProviderTrust. They will ensure the availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, and capacity planning of all ProviderTrust systems. The engineer will also be involved in designing and maintaining secure Linux web servers, managing networks, and implementing container orchestration technologies. Additionally, they should have experience with cloud-based IaaS, monitoring environments, automated configuration management tools, distributed revision control tools, and continuous integration and deployment tools.

Guiding the creation, installation, and support of computing systems and cloud infrastructure used by ProviderTrust

Considering the overall impact of technical infrastructure on the company

Using SRE best practices to ensure availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, and capacity planning of all ProviderTrust systems

Designing and maintaining secure Linux web servers

Managing networks

Designing secure Docker containers according to best practices

Working with container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes, ECS, etc.

Working with cloud-based IaaS (AWS strongly encouraged)

Designing and maintaining a monitoring environment like Splunk, Nagios, CloudWatch (Splunk strongly encouraged)

Working with automated configuration management tools like Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, Cloudformation (Terraform strongly encouraged)

Using distributed revision control tools (GitHub strongly encouraged)

Working with continuous integration and continuous deployment tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions (GitHub Actions strongly encouraged)

Demonstrating strong competency in at least one major scripting or programming language (Golang strongly encouraged)

Having a passion for learning and keeping up to date with the latest tools and technologies

Demonstrating a strong work ethic and attention to detail
