About The Position

KCI Technologies is seeking a motivated student to join its Land Development team for Summer 2027. The internship provides hands-on experience on public and private development projects alongside experienced engineers. Interns are assigned a dedicated supervisor and are required to attend planned activities. The work period runs from mid-May through the end of August, with at least 10 weeks of work required and a 40-hour workweek. KCI is a 100% employee-owned engineering, consulting, and construction firm serving clients throughout the United States. Requirements

Currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited college engineering program.
Valid driver’s license.
Pre-employment drug screening and background check are conditions of employment.
Motor vehicle checks may be required based on the position.

Responsibilities

Assist with design tasks for commercial, residential, and institutional land development projects.
Support site layout, grading, stormwater management, utility design, and erosion and sediment control calculations under the guidance of project engineers.
Help prepare construction documents, drawings, and technical specifications using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Support local, state, and federal permitting processes, including work with MDE, SHA, and county-level agencies.
Participate in site visits and assist with field observation reports.
Collaborate with team members on project organization, schedules, and cost estimate preparation.
Attend planned activities.
