About The Position

KCI Technologies, Inc. is seeking a motivated student for a Site/Civil Engineering Internship for Summer 2027. The internship provides hands-on experience supporting civil engineering projects across the Northeast, including land development, hydraulics, water and sewer infrastructure, stormwater management, SWPPPs, and site inspections. Interns work alongside experienced engineers on public- and private-sector projects. The internship requires a 40-hour workweek and at least 10 weeks of work between mid-May and the end of August. Each intern is assigned a supervisor and mentor, attends planned activities, and submits mid-summer and end-of-summer reports or presentations.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited college engineering program.
Valid driver's license.
Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Assist with design tasks for commercial, residential, institutional, and infrastructure-related projects.
Support site layout, grading, stormwater management, hydraulics analysis, water and sewer utility design, and erosion and sediment control calculations under project engineers' guidance.
Contribute to SWPPP preparation and stormwater compliance efforts.
Assist with site inspections and field observation documentation.
Help prepare construction documents, drawings, and technical specifications using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Support local, state, and federal permitting processes, including MDE, SHA, and county-level agencies.
Collaborate with team members on project organization, schedules, and cost estimate preparation.
Attend planned activities and submit mid-summer and end-of-summer reports or presentations.
