About The Position

As part of HDR’s Building Engineering Services Group, the Site Civil Coordinator/EIT supports the design of critical infrastructure and built environments, including data centers and commercial spaces. The role assists with civil site studies and designs, project documentation, site layout, grading, utilities, and drainage. It involves routine engineering assignments using standard techniques, completing projects with clear objectives and limited variables, and supporting civil/site project management. The position may work independently on small projects or assist senior engineers on larger projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in HDR's employee-owned culture.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (preferred).
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate; candidates hired without an EIT will have the title of Coordinator and are expected to obtain their EIT for career progression (preferred).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Engineer with site studies, site designs, contract documentation preparation, and graphic presentation.
• Perform overall site layout, grading, utility layout, and drainage.
• Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures.
• Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables.
• Perform administrative duties associated with project management for civil/site projects.
• Work independently on small projects or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects.
• Perform other duties as needed.
