About The Position

Apple Inc. is hiring a Silicon Prototype Engineer in Cupertino, California, and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. The role builds and sets up emulation models for SoC designs at full-chip and block level using Verilog RTL. It writes and modifies Verilog RTL, C/C++ DPI transactors, SystemVerilog assertions, and coverage, and uses scripting languages to maintain and create emulation model build and runtime flows. The engineer collaborates with CAD, design verification, silicon validation, DFT, and software teams to develop emulation capabilities, debug and root-cause issues, and develop enhancements and performance optimizations with EDA vendors. The role also works with CAD, DFT, and infrastructure teams to optimize emulator hardware resources and reservations. The position is 40 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer and Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience and/or education performing digital logic design and debugging, including writing, implementing, and analyzing RTL code.
  • Experience and/or education in computer architecture, including pipeline stages and memory subsystem.
  • Experience and/or education using Verilog, SystemVerilog, and VHDL when bringing up or debugging multiple chips.
  • Experience and/or education developing transactors using C/C++ and SystemVerilog DPI.
  • Experience and/or education using Python, Perl, TCL, and Makefile scripting languages.
  • Experience and/or education working with emulation technology.
  • Experience and/or education using waveform debugging tools including Verdi and Indago.
  • Experience and/or education working with synthesized Verilog netlists and test flows including scan dump and memory dump.
