About The Position

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is seeking a full-time Shopkeeper Apprentice for its new Lexington, Kentucky team. The role shares the Shopkeeper’s responsibilities, including accounting, scheduling, inventory and ordering, and all human resources functions for team members. Apprentices receive ongoing training and development from a Shopkeeper to prepare them to support shops in their market and pursue a future Shopkeeper position. Depending on the shop, an apprentice may serve as second-in-command at a full shop or first-in-command at a lower-volume or lower-complexity location. The position involves variable shifts, including opening, closing, and weekend shifts. Shopkeeper Apprentices report directly to a Shopkeeper.

Responsibilities

• Handle accounting and scheduling for the shop.
• Manage inventory and ordering.
• Carry out human resources functions, including hiring, training, team member development, and performance management.
• Support shop operations as second-in-command at a full shop or first-in-command at a lower-volume or lower-complexity location.
• Participate in ongoing training and development with a Shopkeeper.
• Work variable shifts, including opening, closing, and weekend shifts.
• Contribute to the well-being of the shop team, the community, and the surrounding environment.
