About The Position

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is seeking a full-time Shopkeeper Apprentice to help lead a scoop shop. The role shares the Shopkeeper’s responsibilities, including accounting, scheduling, inventory and ordering, and human resources functions such as hiring, training, development, and performance management. It involves variable shifts, including opening, closing, and/or weekend shifts.

Shopkeeper Apprentices report directly to a Shopkeeper. They may serve as second-in-command at a full shop or first-in-command at a lower-volume or lower-complexity location. Apprentices receive ongoing training and development from their Shopkeeper to prepare them to support shops in their market and potentially move into a future Shopkeeper position.

Jeni’s describes its scoop shops as central to its mission of making better ice creams and bringing people together. The company is a B Corp headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, with shops in more than twenty cities.

Responsibilities

• Perform accounting, scheduling, inventory, and ordering responsibilities.
• Carry out human resources functions, including hiring, training, team-member development, and performance management.
• Support the shop team and serve as second-in-command at a full shop or first-in-command at a lower-volume or lower-complexity location.
• Serve customers and help lead the team.
• Participate in ongoing training and development with a Shopkeeper.
• Work variable shifts, including opening, closing, and/or weekend shifts.
