About The Position

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is seeking a full-time Shopkeeper Apprentice to help lead a scoop shop and support the company’s mission of making better ice creams and bringing people together. Apprentices share the Shopkeeper’s responsibilities, including accounting, scheduling, inventory and ordering, and all human resources functions. Depending on the location, the Apprentice may act as second-in-command at a full shop or first-in-command at a lower-volume or less-complexity location.

Shopkeeper Apprentices receive ongoing training and development from their Shopkeeper to prepare them to support shops in their market and succeed in a future Shopkeeper position. The role involves variable shifts, including opening, closing, and/or weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Share the Shopkeeper’s responsibilities for accounting and scheduling.
• Manage inventory and ordering.
• Perform human resources functions, including hiring, training, development, and performance management of team members.
• Support shop operations as second-in-command at a full shop or first-in-command at a lower-volume or less-complexity location.
• Participate in ongoing training and development with the Shopkeeper.
• Serve customers and help lead the shop team.
• Work variable shifts, including opening, closing, and/or weekend shifts.
