Shop Mechanic Bike&Snow
About The Position
REI Co-op seeks a Bike and Ski Shop Mechanic to help create a better outdoor experience by sharing knowledge, making recommendations, and engaging with customers. The role is a member of the retail store Shop team and involves assembling REI equipment, performing shop services, and delivering customer service in the shop and on the sales floor. Mechanics service and repair bikes and/or snow sports equipment to industry standards. The position may include work in the rental department. The mechanic assesses customer needs, supports transactions, promotes REI goods and services, and helps maintain a clean, secure, and safe work environment. The role requires technical proficiency, quality workmanship, and the ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs. Requirements
- Demonstrate technical skills and proficiency.
- Complete required training and certifications.
- Set practical goals and establish priorities to achieve business goals.
- Organize and use resources to meet deadlines, and communicate plans and progress.
- Ability to transfer 40 pounds.
- Enjoy communicating and building relationships inside and outside the organization.

Responsibilities
- Assess customer needs and assist with transactions.
- Participate in REI Sales and Service Training and promote REI goods and services.
- Maintain equipment and ensure a clean, secure, and safe work environment.
- Produce quality work that meets or exceeds industry standards.
- Report quality and safety issues to shop managers.
- Follow REI loss prevention and safety procedures.
- Work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Assemble REI equipment and service and repair bikes and/or snow sports equipment.
- Provide customer service in the shop and on the sales floor; work in the rental department if needed.
