About The Position

Take 5 Oil Change is hiring a Shop Manager to lead a shop location and oversee its team and operations. Experience is valued but not required; paid training covers the Take 5 approach to managing a shop, changing oil, replacing wiper blades and air filters, filling tires, and other light maintenance services. The posting says that within less than 60 days, the manager will be accountable for the team’s execution of these service standards. Experienced managers can earn $55,000 a year or more through base salary and bonus opportunities; the posting also advertises earnings up to $55,000 or more per year.

The manager recruits, interviews, onboards, and trains crew members; creates schedules and submits payroll; manages inventory and product orders; understands shop financials and uses the budget wisely; conducts quarterly employee evaluations; supports crew members with automotive services; and provides excellent customer service. The role involves performing oil changes and other auto services as necessary.

Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3-foot-deep pit to position safely under cars.
• Must be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, and twist for extended periods and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning.
• Must be willing to work in hot or cold weather conditions if necessary.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the shop.
• Must be willing to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion.
• Must have basic computer operating skills.

• Shop management or other leadership experience is valued but not required.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new crew members.
• Create crew schedules and submit payroll.
• Control inventory, including conducting End of Period and End of Year inventory.
• Place product orders and physically restock inventory as needed.
• Understand shop financials, drive results, and use the budget wisely.
• Conduct quarterly employee evaluations.
• Support crew members with oil changes and other auto services.
• Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and perform other auto services as necessary.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Lead the team in executing Take 5 service standards.
