About The Position
Take 5 Oil Change is hiring a Shop Manager to lead a shop location and its crew. Experience is valued but not required; paid training is provided in shop management, oil changes, replacing wiper blades and air filters, filling tires, and other light maintenance services. Within less than 60 days, the manager will be accountable for the team’s execution of Take 5 standards. The role may suit experienced managers from oil change shops, restaurants, retail, or other businesses, as well as candidates seeking an Assistant Manager or Manager-in-Training opportunity. The position is located in Ohio. The stated annual compensation range is $43,800 to $72,200; the posting also notes that experienced Shop Managers can earn $55,000 or more with base salaries and bonus opportunities. Base pay may vary based on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and supplemental pay may include commissions or bonus incentives.
Requirements
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Able to maneuver in and out of a shallow, 3-foot-deep pit to position safely under cars.
- Able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, and twist for extended periods, and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning.
- Willing to work in hot or cold weather conditions if necessary.
- Reliable transportation to and from the shop.
- Willing to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion.
- Basic computer operating skills.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new crew members.
- Create crew schedules and submit payroll.
- Control inventory, including conducting End of Period and End of Year inventory.
- Place product orders and physically restock inventory as necessary.
- Understand shop financials to drive results and use the budget wisely.
- Conduct quarterly employee evaluations.
- Support crew members with changing oil and performing other auto services.
- Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and perform other auto services as necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Ensure the team follows Take 5 standards for oil changes, replacing wiper blades and air filters, filling tires, and other light maintenance services.
