About The Position
Take 5 Oil Change is hiring a Shop Manager to lead a shop team and ensure the location meets Take 5 standards. Experience is valued but not required; paid training covers shop management, oil changes, wiper blade and air filter replacement, tire inflation, and other light maintenance services. Employees may become accountable for the team's execution of these standards in less than 60 days. Experienced managers can earn $55,000 or more per year through base salary and bonus opportunities. The role may also be available through Assistant Manager or Manager-in-Training opportunities for candidates without experience. The Shop Manager recruits, interviews, onboards, and trains crew members; schedules the crew and submits payroll; manages inventory and product orders; monitors shop financials and budgets; conducts employee evaluations; supports the team with automotive services; and provides excellent customer service. The position requires physical work, including lifting, working in a shallow pit, and performing services such as draining motor oil and changing oil filters.
Requirements
- Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Be able to maneuver in and out of a shallow, 3-foot-deep pit to position safely under cars.
- Be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning for extended periods.
- Be willing to work in hot or cold weather conditions if necessary.
- Have reliable transportation to and from the shop.
- Be willing to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion.
- Have basic computer operating skills.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new crew members.
- Create crew schedules and submit payroll.
- Control inventory, including conducting End of Period and End of Year inventory.
- Place product orders and physically restock inventory as necessary.
- Understand the shop's financials, drive results, and use the budget wisely.
- Conduct quarterly employee evaluations.
- Support crew members with duties such as changing oil and performing other automotive services.
- Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and perform other automotive services as necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service.
