About The Position

Take 5 Oil Change is hiring a Shop Manager to lead a shop location and its crew. Experience is valued but not required; paid training is provided in shop management, oil changes, replacing wiper blades and air filters, filling tires, and other light maintenance services. Managers are expected to learn and uphold Take 5 standards, with accountability for their team’s execution within 60 days. Experienced managers may earn $55,000 or more per year through base salary and bonus opportunities. The role may require working early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion.

Requirements

• Reliable transportation to and from the shop.
• Basic computer operating skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3-foot-deep pit and position safely under cars.
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, and twist for extended periods, and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning.
• Willingness to work in hot or cold weather conditions if necessary.
• Willingness to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion.

Nice To Haves

• Shop management or other leadership experience is valued but not required; experience in oil change shops, restaurants, retail, or other businesses may be relevant.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, onboard, and train crew members.
• Create crew schedules and submit payroll.
• Control inventory, including conducting End of Period and End of Year inventory.
• Place product orders and physically restock inventory as necessary.
• Understand shop financials, drive results, and use the budget wisely.
• Conduct quarterly employee evaluations.
• Support crew members with oil changes and other auto services.
• Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and perform other auto services as necessary.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Lead the team in executing Take 5 standards for oil changes, replacing wiper blades and air filters, filling tires, and other light maintenance services.
