About The Position
Take 5 Oil Change is hiring a Shop Manager to lead a shop location and ensure the team follows Take 5 standards for oil changes and other light maintenance services. Experience is valued but not required; the company provides paid training in shop management, oil changes, replacing wiper blades and air filters, filling tires, and other light maintenance. New managers may become accountable for their team’s execution of these standards in less than 60 days. The role offers an annual compensation range of $43,800 to $72,200, with base pay varying by location, knowledge, skills, and experience. Supplemental compensation may include commissions or bonuses. Experienced managers may earn $55,000 or more through base salary and bonus opportunities.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3-foot-deep pit to position safely under cars.
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning for extended periods.
- Willingness to work in hot or cold weather conditions if necessary.
- Reliable transportation to and from the shop.
- Willingness to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion.
- Basic computer operating skills.
Nice To Haves
- Management or leadership experience is valued but not required; experience in oil change shops, restaurants, retail, or other businesses may be relevant.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new crew members.
- Create crew schedules and submit payroll.
- Control inventory, including conducting End of Period and End of Year inventory.
- Place product orders and physically restock inventory as needed.
- Understand the shop’s financials, drive results, and use the budget wisely.
- Conduct quarterly employee evaluations.
- Support crew members with oil changes and other auto services.
- Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and perform other auto services as necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service.
