About The Position

Take 5 Oil Change is hiring a Shop Manager to lead a shop location and its crew. Experience is valued but not required; the company provides paid training in its management standards, oil changes, wiper blade and air filter replacement, tire inflation, and other light maintenance services. The role offers base salary and bonus opportunities, with experienced managers able to earn $55,000 or more per year. The Shop Manager oversees staffing, scheduling, payroll, inventory, shop finances, and customer service, while supporting crew members and performing automotive services as needed. The position requires physical work in and around a shallow service pit, extended periods of standing and movement, and the ability to work in hot or cold weather when necessary.

Requirements

• Experience is valued but not required; no prior experience is necessary.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to maneuver in and out of a shallow, 3-foot-deep pit to position safely under cars.
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning for extended periods.
• Willingness to work in hot or cold weather conditions if necessary.
• Reliable transportation to and from the shop.
• Willingness to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion.
• Basic computer operating skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new crew members.
• Create crew schedules and submit payroll.
• Control inventory, including conducting End of Period (EOP) and End of Year (EOY) inventory.
• Place product orders and physically restock inventory as necessary.
• Understand the shop’s financials, drive results, and use the budget wisely.
• Conduct quarterly employee evaluations.
• Support crew members with duties such as changing oil and performing other auto services.
• Drain motor oil, change oil filters, and perform other auto services as necessary.
• Provide excellent customer service.
