About The Position

Watson Custom Tanks is hiring a Shop Helper to support its metal fabrication and manufacturing operations. This hands-on production role is suited to dependable individuals interested in building a long-term career in a fast-paced industrial environment. Flexibility, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic are important. The position is on-site, Monday through Thursday, from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, and pays $20+ per hour. No travel is required, and the position has no direct reports. Job duties may change based on operational needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read tape measures accurately.
• Experience using hand and power tools.
• Strong verbal communication and teamwork skills.
• Professional, respectful interaction with coworkers and customers.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequent lifting and moving of items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Use of hands, arms, and fine motor skills.
• Vision requirements include close, distance, color, and depth perception.
• Must wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and steel-toe boots.
• Must follow safety policies and properly use equipment and materials at all times.

Nice To Haves

• Two or more years of manufacturing or shop experience.
• Forklift experience.

Responsibilities

• Build wooden crates, skids, and pallets for shipment.
• Load and unload equipment, raw materials, and freight.
• Operate forklifts and overhead cranes; training is provided if needed.
• Assist with grinding, washing tanks, and removing protective film.
• Support shipping and receiving activities.
• Gather parts and materials to maintain production flow.
• Assist shop floor teams with general labor tasks.
• Clean the shop, including dumping scrap using forklifts.
• Maintain safe, organized, and efficient work areas.
• Perform additional duties as needed to support operations.
