About The Position
Swickard Auto Group is seeking a Shop Foreman for Mercedes-Benz of Marin, an award-winning luxury dealership in San Rafael. This leadership role is for a technician who has mastered their craft and is ready to multiply their impact by developing the team around them. The Shop Foreman will set the standard for the shop's technical team, ensuring quality and consistency in all work performed. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead by example in a technically demanding and rewarding environment within a growing dealership group.
Requirements
- 5+ years of flat-rate technician experience.
- Demonstrated shop leadership or senior technician experience.
- Master technician certification or equivalent diagnostic and repair depth.
- Proven ability to develop other technicians through coaching and technical authority.
- Strong working knowledge of shop workflow, repair order management, and warranty documentation requirements.
- Clear, professional communication skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

- Mercedes-Benz or luxury European brand experience.
- XENTRY/DAS proficiency.
- MBZ factory certifications.
- Deep familiarity with the brand's repair standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily shop operations, including managing technician workflow, repair order dispatch, bay assignments, and throughput.
- Serve as the technical authority, supporting technicians with complex diagnostic challenges, reviewing repair plans, and ensuring work meets Mercedes-Benz OEM standards.
- Perform hands-on diagnostic and repair work as needed, leading by example.
- Monitor technician productivity, efficiency, and quality, providing real-time coaching and feedback.
- Coordinate with service advisors on repair timelines, diagnostic findings, and technician capacity.
- Support warranty documentation accuracy by reviewing repair orders for proper labor operations, causal parts, and OEM compliance.
- Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and development of service technicians.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and professionally run shop environment.
