About The Position

The Shop Foreman oversees technicians who diagnose and repair light-, medium-, and heavy-duty trucks and equipment. The role provides technical support to the service office and customers, manages shop workflow and repair-order distribution, and assists technicians with troubleshooting and repairs. Work is performed according to technical manual procedures and applicable safety rules.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in a diesel truck shop.
• At least 3 years in a leadership role or service writer role.
• Customer service and leadership qualities.
• Valid driver's license.
• Proficiency using a personal computer and basic applications.

Responsibilities

• Oversee technicians accurately diagnosing and repairing light-, medium-, and heavy-duty trucks and equipment using special tools and equipment according to technical manual procedures.
• Provide timely and accurate technical support and information to the service office and customers.
• Follow safety rules and regulations while performing work duties.
• Communicate problems and resolutions to the supervisor and customers, when requested.
• Oversee tagging of warranty parts and write warranty stories.
• Test-drive repaired vehicles.
• Assist technicians with troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and repairs.
• Use diagnostic software to identify and repair issues.
• Distribute repair orders fairly and evenly.
• Manage shop workflow.
• Review and adjust repair estimates.
• Assist with other projects as needed.
