About The Position

Jennings Mechanical is seeking a dependable, motivated entry-level Shop Fabricator to join its Sheet Metal / Shop team in Charleston, SC. This full-time opportunity is suited to someone interested in learning a skilled trade and building a career in mechanical construction. Shop Fabricators assist with measuring, cutting, forming, and assembling sheet metal components used in HVAC and mechanical systems. Previous sheet metal experience is not required; a positive attitude, strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and commitment to safe, quality work are essential. The role involves hands-on work in a shop environment and collaboration with the shop team to meet production schedules and deadlines. The successful candidate will be coachable, dependable, safety-conscious, and motivated to develop trade skills.

Requirements

Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
Strong willingness to learn sheet metal fabrication and develop hands-on trade skills.
Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
No prior fabrication experience is required.

Nice To Haves

Construction, manufacturing, warehouse, or other hands-on experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Assist with fabricating sheet metal ductwork and related components according to project specifications.
Use a tape measure to take measurements and verify dimensions accurately.
Learn to interpret basic measurements, drawings, and fabrication instructions.
Assist with operating shop equipment and tools used to cut, bend, form, and assemble sheet metal.
Handle, move, and position sheet metal and other materials throughout the shop.
Inspect completed work for accuracy, quality, and compliance with instructions.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Follow company safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment.
Collaborate with shop team members to meet production schedules and deadlines.
Perform other shop-related duties as assigned.
