Shop Apprentice- Rough Mill
About The Position
The Shop Apprentice is expected to come to work willing to learn, first by listening and then by doing. At the direction of the Production Manager, the apprentice learns essential methods and standards across the shop’s departments, with the goal of understanding the manufacturing process from start to finish and the shop’s quality and safety standards. The role operates in a manufacturing/warehouse environment and follows a schedule of 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Duties and responsibilities may change, and reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Requirements
- Ability to read and use a tape measure.
- Ability to safely maneuver and control manual-transmission trucks under various conditions.
- Strong communication skills.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical/musculoskeletal exam.
- Must pass drug screening.
- Must pass an audiogram test.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a daily basis.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Responsibilities
