About The Position

The Shipping Utility assists with shipping operations by staging and loading material scheduled for shipment. The role performs housekeeping and a variety of utility duties assigned by the area supervisor, while supporting safe, efficient operations and quality monitoring.

Requirements

• Strong safety awareness.
• Good verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work consistently without direct supervision.
• Able to work well with others and independently.
• Quality- and detail-oriented.
• Mechanically inclined.
• Willingness to work scheduled and unscheduled.

Responsibilities

• Stage and load material scheduled for shipment.
• Perform housekeeping.
• Safely operate area cranes and mobile equipment.
• Dispose of scrap using cutting torches.
• Operate sample shears, strapping and packaging equipment, walking beam conveyors, and associated handling equipment.
• Support routine maintenance activities, downturn work, and preventative maintenance checks.
• Continuously observe operations and record quality data.
• Perform various utility functions assigned by the area supervisor.
