About The Position

The Casting Floating position assists throughout the assigned department. The role supports caster and LMF deck operations, housekeeping, material stocking, clean-ups, caster turnarounds, machine changes, and work at the ladle wall. The position also involves training on the caster crane, safely operating area cranes and mobile equipment, supporting routine maintenance and preventative maintenance checks, and observing and recording quality data. Additional utility duties may be assigned by the area supervisor.

• Quality- and detail-oriented.
• Mechanically inclined.
• Willingness to work scheduled and unscheduled hours.
• Ability to work routinely in a hot environment.
• Ability to perform repetitive stretching, reaching, lifting, and walking.

• Forklift and crane experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform housekeeping and various clean-up tasks.
• Assist the caster and LMF deck in all areas of the job.
• Stock materials.
• Support caster turnarounds and machine changes, and assist at the ladle wall.

• Support routine maintenance activities, downturn work, and preventative maintenance checks.
• Continuously observe operations and record quality data.
