Shipping Technician
About The Position
The Shipping Technician performs packing and shipping tasks for client products while maintaining Finished Goods inventory and ensuring proper product handling and storage. The role manages inventory storage and transfers, pulls and packs domestic and international orders, and coordinates with regulatory personnel to ensure international shipments are appropriately labeled and shipped. It prepares carrier and freight-forwarder paperwork, coordinates pickups, and manages shipping supplies and department equipment. The position also supports warehouse organization, inventory counts, housekeeping, and cross-training with Receiving.
Responsibilities
- Store new inventory in the appropriate warehouse and manage transfers between inventory locations.
- Pull and pack domestic and international orders.
- Coordinate with regulatory personnel to ensure international shipments are shipped and labeled appropriately.
- Prepare FedEx, DHL, UPS, and freight-forwarder labels and paperwork, and coordinate pickups.
- Order and manage shipping supplies while maintaining department budgets.
- Operate department equipment, which may include computers, printers, tape machines, and carts.
- Perform annual and preventative maintenance on department equipment.
- Receive and rotate product into Finished Goods.
- Store and rotate supplies, re-stack pallets, and organize storage areas.
- Perform weekly cycle counts and physical year-end inventory, as applicable.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly work environment.
- Demonstrate knowledge of products, procedures, policies, systems, and company organization relevant to the job.
- Follow applicable company procedures and policies.
- Cross-train with Receiving and provide support or backup as necessary.
- Provide additional support as required by management.
