About The Position
As a member of Gourmet Foods International’s warehouse team, the Shipping Team Member helps deliver specialty food items to customers in a fast-paced, physically active environment. The role includes unloading and receiving shipments, sorting and storing products, and preparing orders for timely delivery. The employee organizes, stages, and transports orders for pickup by delivery drivers. The stated job location is GFI Midwest in Kenosha, Wisconsin. This is a full-time day-shift position.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Able to lift up to 75 pounds, carry up to 50 pounds, and push or pull up to 30 pounds of force.
- Able to work in refrigerated and freezer environments ranging from 0 to 36 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Able to ascend and descend a step 10 inches high.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow directions, meet deadlines, and work under minimal supervision.
- Able to stand for long periods, reach, and bend.
- Must be able to meet the scheduling requirements of the position.
Nice To Haves
- Previous warehouse and/or cold storage experience.
- Experience using an RF handheld device.
- Pallet jack and forklift experience.
Responsibilities
- Unload, receive, and put away incoming inventory.
- Use an RF handheld device to scan, pick, and pack items to fulfill orders.
- View prompts on screens and follow directions for assigned tasks.
- Build, wrap, sort, and transport pallets for delivery.
- Organize and stage orders for pickup by delivery drivers.
