About The Position

The Shipping Specialist performs the receipt of incoming goods and shipment of finished goods in compliance with established procedures. The role checks in drivers, verifies purchase orders and Bills of Lading and shipment seals, tags product, schedules appointments, and maintains shipping and receiving documentation. The position requires communication with and direction from a direct supervisor and/or warehouse supervisor. Work takes place in a production or warehouse environment that may be expansive and noisy, with temperatures that vary by facility and season.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two or more years of related work experience in logistics or distribution.
• Read, write, and speak English.
• Able to communicate and take direction from a direct supervisor and/or warehouse supervisor.
• Able to apply common-sense understanding to detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions and solve problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to calculate numbers and amounts, including discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume, and apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
• Ability to use a WMS, SAP, and basic Windows applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to perform the essential duties satisfactorily.
