About The Position

America's Thrift Stores is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Distribution Shipping/Receiving Team Member for its Distribution Center. This hands-on role supports distribution operations by receiving, sorting, organizing, and preparing merchandise for shipment. The position is suited to someone who works well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and takes pride in maintaining a safe, organized, and productive workspace. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with no regularly scheduled evening or weekend shifts. Occasional schedule adjustments may be required based on operational needs. The job is physically active and involves regular movement, lifting, and material handling. Work is primarily inside a Distribution Center with partially controlled temperatures; some duties may involve outdoor weather conditions and varying temperatures. Employees must follow established safety procedures and equipment guidelines. Duties may change based on operational needs, and additional tasks may be assigned by management.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred; equivalent work experience is considered.
Previous warehouse, distribution, shipping/receiving, or material-handling experience preferred.
Ability to work efficiently in a physically active, fast-paced environment.

Ability to follow instructions, prioritize tasks, and work independently or as part of a team.

Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push and pull up to 25 pounds.
Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, balance, reach at or above waist level, walk on concrete or tile surfaces, handle merchandise, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
Continuously stand on concrete or tile surfaces, communicate, observe surroundings, and respond to workplace instructions.
Climb to heights of up to 14 feet as required, following established safety procedures.

Nice To Haves

Experience operating warehouse equipment.

Responsibilities

Load and unload merchandise from trucks and trailers safely and efficiently.
Inspect, verify, and document incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and quality.
Sort, organize, package, and prepare merchandise for distribution.
Label and process outgoing shipments according to established procedures.
Assist with coordinating shipments to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
Organize and maintain merchandise throughout the Distribution Center.
Assist with inventory counts, stock rotation, and replenishment.
Identify, sort, and consolidate merchandise into designated categories.
Operate baling equipment and prepare materials for processing or shipment.
Safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, as trained and authorized.
Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
Follow company policies, safety procedures, and operational guidelines.
Work collaboratively with team members and leadership to meet daily production goals.
Adapt to changing priorities and assist in other areas of the Distribution Center as needed.
Communicate inventory discrepancies, operational concerns, and progress to management.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
