About The Position

Under general supervision, this role distributes equipment, materials, and supplies received. The position involves processing requests, delivering and picking up tables and chairs, coordinating online auctions for surplus property, and working with purchasing and facilities on project cleanups and surplus pickups. This role also coordinates all service requests across campus for tables and chairs, surplus pickup, and office moves through the EMS system. Additionally, it involves processing all incoming and outgoing freight for the university, delivering it to departments using appropriate equipment, and responding to customer inquiries. The role includes swapping recycling bins, working with vendors, processing carrier invoices (FedEx and UPS), billing charges back to departments, filing freight claims, shipping packages through couriers, and assisting with student packages as necessary. A key aspect of this role is maintaining 100% compliance with timely completion of required System, University, and job-specific online training courses. Requirements

  • High school graduate or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four (4) years of related experience in shipping and receiving.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
  • Strong computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Six (6) years of related experience.
  • Forklift experience.

Responsibilities

  • Process requests, deliver and pick-up tables and chairs as requested.
  • Pick up surplus property as needed from campus; coordinate online auction.
  • Work with purchasing and facilities on project cleanups and surplus pickups.
  • Coordinates all service requests across campus for tables and chairs, surplus pickup and office moves through the EMS system.
  • Process all incoming and outgoing freight for the university and delivering to departments using appropriate delivery equipment and respond to customer related customer inquiries.
  • Swap recycling bins out as requested.
  • Work with vendors on as needed basis and act as liaison between vendors and campus.
  • Process carrier invoices including FedEx and UPS and bill charges back to the departments.
  • File freight claims on an as needed basis.
  • Ship out packages as needed through couriers.
  • Assist with student packages as necessary.
  • Maintains 100% compliance with timely completion of required System, University and job-specific online training courses.
