About The Position

Under general guidance of the Plant Foreman, this role involves loading and unloading trucks, picking orders, palletizing and shrink wrapping product, packing and labeling boxes for shipment, disassembling equipment, inventory restocking, receiving and staging material, itemizing incoming material, and filing POs. The position requires excellent customer service, maintaining equipment, and ensuring quality control in shipping and receiving operations. Safety protocols and reporting are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field
  • Experience moving and unloading equipment using material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, lift carts, etc.
  • Able to multitask and produce a quality, error-free work product
  • Ability to recognize problems and to obtain and provide information
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer skills to include both MS Word & Excel
  • Flexibility and work overtime as needed
  • For positions that utilize a company vehicle, you will be required to have a valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload trucks
  • Pick orders
  • Palletize and shrink wrap product
  • Pack and label boxes for shipment
  • Disassemble equipment
  • Inventory restocking
  • Receive and stage material
  • Itemize incoming material
  • File POs
  • Communicate with customers, confirming delivery times, delivery addresses, and order details
  • Control and submit all delivery and pick up paperwork to the appropriate department
  • Print/create, Bill of Ladings, or other Proofs of Delivery (POD)
  • Obtain signatures from customers on all PODs
  • Maintain neat, clean and professional personal appearance
  • Keep forklift and reach maintenance schedule, fluids and fuel levels
  • Establish and maintain excellent customer service
  • Package products sold for shipping (strapping, palletizing, crating, shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling)
  • Match incoming material part numbers to internal bill of materials and report discrepancies
  • Ship orders interfacing with Purolator, FEDEX, Freight quotes
  • Receive BOM components and update TSE systems
  • Inspect material for damage, quantities and part number accuracy
  • Reorder shipping supplies
  • Clean and maintain shipping/receiving work area
  • Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use
  • Operate forklift, pallet jack, and other material handling equipment
  • Responsible for shipping/receiving quality control as assigned
  • Follow all safety rules, PPE requirements and report any accidents or injuries promptly to management
  • Complete other duties assigned
