Shipping Operator - Day Shift
About The Position
At Charter Next Generation (CNG), employees are owners and earn equity shares from day one. The Shipping Operator operates and monitors production lines that turn raw resin into film used in packaging designed to protect food, keep medicine safe, and reduce waste. The role works alongside a close-knit team and includes hands-on training and opportunities for career growth. The position follows a consistent 2-2-3 rotation with static 12-hour day shifts from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The schedule provides 8 hours of overtime built into every standard schedule and 15 workdays per month. Starting wages are $22.00 or more, based on experience, with quarterly bonuses.
Requirements
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts.
- Ability to lift up to 65 pounds.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort with measuring tools.
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a technical environment.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Responsibilities
- Pull orders and ensure the correct product is shipped to customers.
- Operate a forklift.
- Receive freight and ensure it is documented accurately.
- Maintain the warehouse, rotate stock, and organize pallets and scrap efficiently using available space.
- Perform the math necessary to estimate truck capacity.
- Read and measure with a tape ruler.
- Assist with month-end inventory.
- Ensure parcel deliveries are accurately received and forwarded to the appropriate parties.
- Load and unload trucks and scrap trailers.
- Perform daily housekeeping, including sweeping the warehouse and loading area.
- Assist with packaging and purchasing functions as needed.
