Shipping Clerk - 1st Shift - Wesanco Garden Grove CA
About The Position
We are seeking a Shipping Clerk on 1st shift to join our team at Wesanco in Garden Grove CA! This role involves working in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing setting that may include dust and debris and can be loud at times. The primary duties include preparing shipping documentation and processing orders, coordinating the preparation and organization of bills of lading, packing slips, invoices, and required export licenses or compliance documents. The position utilizes enterprise resource planning (ERP) or other systems to record and track all shipping transactions. Responsibilities also include troubleshooting shipping delays or changes with carriers, communicating with customers, and ensuring shipping protocols and documentation meet required regulatory requirements for hazardous materials (DOT/HAZMAT) or special handling. The role involves investigating and resolving shipping non-conformance, operating a forklift, reading and understanding written directions, and providing report data to management. Adherence to all applicable safety procedures to avoid injuries, proper handling of finished parts and products, and performing quality checks are essential. The job may require overtime and a flexible schedule, including reporting early, working late, and weekends.
Requirements

- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must be able to clear drug screen and background check.
- Must have reliable transportation.
Nice To Haves
- Hi-Lo Certification preferred, will be trained, and certified on the hi-lo.
- 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Responsibilities
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOP’s)
- Record and track all shipping transactions utilizing a scan gun.
- Able to safely operate a forklift and heavy equipment in tight places.
- Follow bill of lading, packing slips and invoices.
- Utilize a computer to be able to properly set up, track and prepare shipments.
- Able to work closely with team lead and supervisor on planning the workload for the entire shift.
- Follow safety protocol.
- Read and comprehend schedule and BOM.
- Inspect manufactured goods for defects, quality, proper material and correct size and specifications.
- Housekeeping while in between quality checks.
- Production reporting.
- May perform other related duties as assigned.
