Shipping Checker - West Jordan
About The Position
Franz Family Bakery is seeking a swing-shift Shipping Checker to join its Dunford team in Utah. The role performs shipping and receiving duties in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Shipping Checker pulls and organizes orders according to the products ordered and prepares them for shipment by loading bakery product trays onto transport racks, pallets, or trucks and moving racks to designated staging areas. The position also assists with loading transport trucks. This is a physically demanding role involving repeated lifting of up to 40 pounds, prolonged standing and walking on concrete or wood surfaces (including trailer beds), and frequent pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, reaching, carrying, handling, and grasping of heavy products and equipment. The work takes place in a high-temperature environment supporting fast-paced machinery. Employees may be assigned to different tasks and must be available to work any day, including holidays, or any shift, based on production needs.
Requirements
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds repeatedly.
- Must be able to stand and walk constantly on concrete or wood surfaces, including transport trailer beds.
- Must be able to frequently push and pull heavy transport racks, dollies, and carts.
- Must be able to frequently bend, stoop, twist, kneel, reach, lift, and carry heavy items.
- Must be able to repeatedly use both upper extremities to load transport carts with heavy bakery product trays.
- Must be able to frequently or constantly handle and grasp heavy bakery product trays, transport racks, and carts.
- Ability to work in a high-temperature environment while supporting fast-paced machinery.
- Ability to quickly learn new tasks and flexibility to work in different jobs as needed.
- Must be able to work any day, including holidays, or any shift.
- Must have reliable attendance that meets the employer’s standards for a 24/7 production facility.
- Must be able to read, speak, and communicate in English.
- Must be legally able to work in the U.S.; employer uses E-Verify.

Nice To Haves
- High school graduate or GED.
- Previous experience in a similar shipping and receiving environment at a large commercial bakery.
- Experience in a similar industrial, manufacturing, or production-line environment may substitute for bakery experience.
Responsibilities
- Read orders in English and load bakery product trays onto transport racks, pallets, or trucks according to each order.
- Move transport racks to designated staging areas for eventual loading into transport trucks.
- Assist with loading transport trucks with transport racks.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
