About The Position

The Shipping Checker verifies the accuracy and quality of products before shipment. The role independently checks all hardware listed on a Tally Sheet for a specified load and ensures required documentation is properly completed and signed before the load is released for transport. The employee maintains a clean work area and performs other duties as assigned or requested by a supervisor or group leader.

The position requires working in a plant environment with high noise levels and exposure to prevailing weather conditions. Required personal protective equipment includes gloves, steel-toe boots, safety glasses, and sleeves when loading. The work involves extended periods of walking, standing, crouching, kneeling, handling objects and tools, reaching, talking, and hearing, and consistently lifting up to 75 pounds.

Requirements

• Read and understand shipping schedules and comprehend written and verbal instructions in a fast-paced environment.
• Plan loads and read loadsheets.
• Work flexible hours, including early start times or later end times, Saturdays, and overtime as required.
• Pass a drug screen.
• Follow and support all safety rules.
• Walk, stand, crouch, and kneel; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects and tools; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear for extended periods, usually the entire shift.
• Lift 75 pounds on a consistent basis.
• Have close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
