About The Position
The Shift Supervisor directs associates’ activities during a specific shift and oversees completion of assigned job expectations while ensuring policies and procedures are maintained. The role includes training and scheduling employees, evaluating performance, and supporting unit quality, productivity, and safety expectations. The position is based at East Connecticut State University. The posting describes the schedule as part time, with days and hours that may vary.
Requirements
- Prior cash-handling experience is required.
- Prior retail experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Direct associates’ activities during a specific shift and oversee completion of assigned job expectations while maintaining policies and procedures.
- Provide training and create work schedules.
- Evaluate workers’ performance, reward high performers, and discipline employees who do not meet reasonable work standards.
- Prepare production or sales reports for management.
- Ensure the unit meets expectations for quality, productivity, and safety.
- Act as the contact person for employees with complaints or requests for time off.
- Mentor and develop employees and encourage them to set goals and seek advancement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
