About The Position

At Philz, Shift Supervisors—also called Team Leads—supervise daily shift activities and support a dynamic team. They motivate and inspire team members while setting expectations for excellent service and drink quality and contributing to a welcoming workplace. Team Leads also help build relationships with customers and the local community, support training and operations, and help maintain safety programs.

Requirements

Passion for people and willingness to learn.
Ability to operate a variety of machines, tools, and equipment.
Visual acuity to make general observations regarding safety and work accuracy.
Ability to remain stationary for at least three hours.
Ability to stand, walk, stoop, and kneel.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds intermittently and lift 3 pounds to shoulder height repetitively.
Ability to grasp, finger, and reach.
Ability to communicate or exchange information verbally.

Nice To Haves

Previous supervisory experience in a fast-paced food and beverage environment.
Previous barista experience is not required.

Responsibilities

Assign team members to roles that make the best use of their strengths and meet shift needs.
Handcraft drinks alongside Baristas and model care and skill.
Develop relationships with customers and the local community.
Assess team members’ performance, including service and drink quality.
Hold team members accountable for scheduled shifts, arrange coverage for callouts, and ensure breaks and lunches are provided.
Communicate team members’ performance to Store Leaders and other Shift Supervisors to support consistency.
Support promotions and new hires through in-store training.
Assist the Store Leader with operational and administrative duties.
Help implement and maintain Philz safety programs.
