About The Position

Sonoco is a global packaging solutions company with operations in more than 34 countries. The Shift Supervisor is accountable for safety, quality, productivity, material handling, cost performance, and employees on the assigned shift. This position is located in Dalton, Georgia, reports directly to the Production Manager, and is for the 2nd shift.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of supervisory experience.

• A bachelor's degree in business, science, or engineering is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach and lead the safety process and best manufacturing practices for the assigned shift.
• Coordinate production scheduling on the shift to meet customer demands, manage overtime, minimize inventory, and reduce costs.
• Direct continuous improvement initiatives and work to meet performance metrics using tools such as SPS, Six Sigma, Kaizen events, and lean manufacturing.
• Build and maintain productive relationships that foster employee engagement and satisfaction.
• Provide direction, training, and development to hourly employees on the assigned shift, and provide counseling or discipline as needed.
• Identify, propose, and implement capital projects to improve operational performance.
