About The Position

The Shift Supervisor Level 1 works in an outdoor car wash environment and is responsible for customer service, site upkeep, opening and closing procedures, and basic troubleshooting. The supervisor performs all Car Wash Attendant duties, follows DRB protocols, and is expected to work with minimum direction and periodic supervision. The position requires the ability to demonstrate responsibility while the Site Manager is off site, enforce safety policies, and assist with tunnel and chemical room equipment repairs. Work duties are divided approximately as follows: 60% customer interaction, 30% site upkeep (cleaning and maintaining), 5% opening and closing procedures, and 5% basic troubleshooting. The employee must follow standard operating procedures and OSHA safety guidelines, including wearing required personal protective equipment. Work takes place outdoors in variable weather and damp or humid conditions; noise is usually moderate but can be excessively loud, requiring hearing protection.

Requirements

At least 6 months as a Car Wash Attendant before advancement.
Able to work weekends.
Excellent communication skills, including active listening.
Excellent sales and customer service skills.
Ability to anticipate customer needs.
Ability to demonstrate responsibility while the Site Manager is off site.
Ability to work safely in accordance with standard operating procedures without endangering oneself or others.
Ability to work in damp and humid conditions and outdoors in variable weather.
Ability to frequently stand and walk throughout the workday; use hands; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stop, crouch, and kneel.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including hearing, eye, foot, and hand protection.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Customer service experience preferred.
Some car wash experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, courteous, friendly, and attentive customer service; greet customers, answer questions, and explain available wash options.
Ensure customer satisfaction and report inquiries, incidents, and issues in a timely manner.
Complete all Car Wash Attendant job duties.
Troubleshoot basic XPT and DRB issues and follow DRB Protocol.
Complete the Supervisor Level DRB training course.
Attend Preventative Maintenance Training and complete 5 Day Preventative Maintenance Reports.
Arrive on time and follow the dress and appearance code.
Perform site cleaning and maintenance, opening and closing procedures, and basic troubleshooting.
Demonstrate responsibility while the Site Manager is off site and work with minimum direction and periodic supervision.
Enforce safety policies and follow OSHA safety guidelines and protocols.
Understand the functions of chemical room equipment and assist the Site Manager with tunnel and chemical room equipment repairs.
Clean out solenoids.
