About The Position

The Shift Leader assists the Assistant Manager and General Manager with management activities and duties, ensuring that activities are consistent with and support the restaurant’s business plan. The Shift Leader ensures Team Members perform their job responsibilities and meet expectations across all areas of their job descriptions. The role requires a guest-focused approach, leadership, and the ability to maintain restaurant standards and operations during a shift.

Requirements

• Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours, including opening and closing shifts.
• Must have reliable transportation and a method of communication with the restaurant, such as a phone or email.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Ability to maintain the respect of the team.
• Guest-driven focus.
• Ability to make decisions effectively under pressure while delegating tasks appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Ensure hospitality service is outstanding, anticipate and exceed guest needs, and handle situations and requests promptly and positively.
• Monitor all aspects of restaurant operations to anticipate problems and take initiative to correct problem areas immediately.
• Enforce and maintain quality, service, and cleanliness standards.
• Monitor and maintain appropriate staffing levels and labor costs.
• Create a friendly atmosphere for Team Members and Guests.
• Train, direct, and supervise Team Members effectively.
• Support efforts to maximize sales and profits and minimize controllable costs.
• Plan, organize, and implement operational routines and activities during the shift.
• Maintain cooperative and harmonious working relationships with management and fellow Team Members.
• Ensure sanitation, safety, and security policies and procedures are observed and enforced.
• Meet company standards for personal appearance and display professionalism.
• Follow HR, sanitation, safety, and security policies and procedures to provide a safe and compliant environment.
• Perform other tasks as directed by management.
