About The Position

The Shift Leader assists the Assistant Manager and General Manager with management activities and duties, ensuring that operations are consistent with and support the restaurant’s business plan. The role ensures Team Members perform their responsibilities and meet expectations. The Shift Leader delivers outstanding hospitality, monitors restaurant operations, maintains quality, service, cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and security standards, and helps manage staffing, labor costs, sales, profits, and controllable costs. The position also involves training and supervising Team Members, organizing shift operations, and maintaining a professional, cooperative working environment.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be willing to work flexible hours, including opening and closing shifts.
Must have reliable transportation and a method of communicating with the restaurant, such as phone or email.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Ability to maintain the respect of the team.

Responsibilities

Ensure hospitality is outstanding by anticipating and exceeding guest needs and responding promptly and positively to situations and requests.
Monitor all aspects of restaurant operations, anticipate problems, and take initiative to correct problem areas immediately.
Consistently enforce and maintain quality, service, and cleanliness standards.
Monitor and maintain appropriate staffing levels and labor costs.
Create a friendly atmosphere for Team Members and guests.
Train, direct, and supervise Team Members effectively.
Support efforts to maximize sales and profits and minimize controllable costs.
Plan, organize, and implement operational routines and activities during the shift.
Maintain cooperative and harmonious working relationships with management and fellow Team Members.
Ensure sanitation, safety, and security policies and procedures are observed and enforced.
Maintain a personal appearance that meets company standards and display professionalism.
Follow HR, sanitation, safety, and security policies and procedures to provide a safe and compliant environment.
Perform other tasks as directed by management.
