The Shift Manager is responsible for everything that happens during a shift, including cost, inventory, and cash controls and customer relations. The manager sets an example for the crew, follows all company policies and procedures, and expects the same from team members. Duties also include staffing, paperwork, food management, scheduling, maintaining store standards and cleanliness, marketing, and supporting profitability and customer service. The role offers a path to train for a General Manager position. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. The posting requires open availability for this position and notes that management experience is preferred. Candidates must be available two out of every three Friday-Saturday-Sunday periods, have a reliable vehicle, and be motivated to succeed. The position also includes general store-team tasks such as operating equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, handling telephone orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility. Delivery-related tasks may include driving in the designated area and bringing orders to customers. Work involves standing for most tasks, walking, occasional sitting for paperwork, lifting and carrying supplies, pushing or pulling trays, occasional climbing, bending, crouching, and continuous reaching. The environment may include adverse weather, a wide range of temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped cooler space, hot surfaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Team members use communication, math, computer or touchscreen, and navigation skills, and may work alone or with others under stress while meeting quality standards.
